Lily Allen. Allen’s first album since 2018’s No Shame, West End Girl is “a gobsmacking autopsy of marital betrayal”. While it does not mention David Harbour by name, Allen told British Vogue, “There are things that are on the record that I experienced . . . but that’s not to say that it’s all gospel. It is inspired by what went on in the relationship.”
India. All-rounder Deepti Sharma scored 58 runs and took five wickets in the final, on her way to being named player of the tournament. Her 22 wickets were the most of any bowler at the World Cup, 5 ahead of Australia’s Annabel Sutherland in second.
The Thursday Murder Club. The first book in Richard Osman’s series also had a film adaptation this year, starring Celia Imrie, Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley and Pierce Brosnan.
Zohran Mamdani. The Uganda-born Mamdani became the first candidate since 1969 to receive over one million votes, and the youngest mayor-elect in the city since Hugh J. Grant in 1889.

They will also see the debut of ski mountaineering (skimo) as an event, which involves a combination of uphill skiing, uphill climbing on foot, and downhill skiing.
Mercury and Venus. Earth is next with only one, and Mars with two. In the 17th and 18th century, there were up to 30 ‘observations’ of a moon around Venus, which was later called Neith, but later analysis concluded the observations were likely stars that had been in the vicinity of Venus in the sky at the time. No space missions have retrieved any evidence of a moon of Venus.
